Short Bio

Joel Ronez is Head of Internet of Arte France since 2008. He’s managing the french part of the on-line editorial activities of the french-german cultural broadcast network ARTE. The Internet department includes a non-linear production activity, (documentary and fiction) for around 10 genuine online program per year, also involved in cross-media program with the broadcast programming unit.

In 2008, Joël Ronez was co-producer of “Gaza-Sderot, life inspite everything” (Prix Europa, INPUT, Digital Emmy Awards nominee) and in 2010 “Prison Valley”, an interactive documentary about the prison industry in USA (Crossmedia Price, Bellaria Festival, Prix Italia, Special mention Innovation in Sheffield) and New-York Minute. In 2009, he launched ARTE Live Web, a platform of on-line live shows.

• Web sites publishing : arte.tv (main web site, programmes, news, culture, society), arteradio.com (sound creative documentaries), arteliveweb.com (performing arts, live, theatre, danse, rock pop electro, jazz, etc. 500 concerts /year, 50% live on-line), ARTE WebDocs (webdocumentary platform).
• Production : non-linear programmes designed for on-line or mobile. 10 programmes /year, like documentaries (Gaza-Sderot,  Prison Valley, New York Minute) or fiction (Addicts).
• Distribution : for the catch-up or internet videos and programmes, on-line, mobile or through partner plat-forms.

EN FRANCAIS

Responsable du pôle web d’ARTE France depuis 2008, Joël Ronez a développé au sein de la chaîne la production de contenus non-linéaires et de formats innovants destinés au web.

Après les productions webdocumentaires “Gaza-Sderot, la vie Malgré tout” en 2008 (Bo Travail / Prix Europa, nominé au International Digital Emmy Awards) et “Prison Valley” en 2010 (Upian / IAB Award, Prix Visa pour l’Image), le pôle web qu’il dirige a co-produit “Addicts”, une webfiction de 120 épisodes (Mascaret Films). Son activité englobe notamment le site ARTE Live Web (plus de 500 spectacles de création par an, dont la moitié en direct) et Arte radio, la référence du documentaire et de la fiction sonore de création.

De 2002 a 2008, Joël Ronez exercait comme consultant indépendant dans le secteur de la presse et des nouveaux médias, au sein de l’agence [Cup Of Tea] qu’il avait fondé. Il a publié “L’ecrit web” aux éditions CFPJ en 2007.
